Dr Christophe Jouffrais awarded CHI 2020 Best Paper & Honourable Mention

Congratulations to Dr. Christophe Jouffrais who was awarded CHI 2020 Best Paper & Honourable Mention!

In the paper titled "Robots for Inclusive Play: Co-designing an Educational Game With Visually Impaired and sighted Children,” (CHI’20 Best Paper), Dr. Jouffrais and his co-authors aim to make school education more inclusive for visually impaired children. In this paper, they presented their design and evaluation of a robot-based educational game that allows both visually impaired children and sighted children to play and learn together in mainstream schools.

In the paper "Review of Quantitative Empirical Evaluations of Technology for People with Visual Impairments,” (CHI’20 Honourable Mention), Dr. Jouffrais and his co-authors address the challenges faced by HCI researchers when designing quantitative empirical evaluation for visually impaired people. The paper presents an analysis of past research, a unified terminology, and a set of guidelines to address identified open issues, to help future research on this topic.
